The Red Fort: Shah Jahan during 1639-48, built the red fort which served as the royal abode for the emperor. It is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This fort has Rang Mahal palace, Diwan-i-Aam, Naqqar Khana, Diwan-i-Khas, Mumtaz Mahal palace and the Moti Masjid mosque. The walls of Red Fort are 33m high.
Jama Masjid: Relieve the Mughal history of Delhi while passing with the amazing corridors of this mosque. The spacious courtyard of the Jama Masjid holds thousands of devotees. It is the largest mosque in India.
Parliament House: It accommodates both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Sir Edwin Lutyens and Sir Herbert Baker have designed this interesting building. His Royal Highness, the Duke of Connaught, in 1927 laid the building blocks of this House. This circular building houses ministerial offices, committee rooms, and a huge library.
Qutub Minar: One of the finest historical sites in Delhi, Qutub Minar is a must visit the place. It is 73 m high and is one of the iconic and important landmarks of the capital city. This amazing structure is built in red sandstone. The huge tower has inscriptions of verses of Holy Quran and intricate carvings.
India Gate: Built in the year 1931, this 42 m high arch of victory is a tribute to the 90,000 soldiers who died during the third world war. The names of these soldiers are inscribed on the walls. It is also called as the ‘All India War Memorial’. To honor the brave soldiers, Amar Jawan Jyoti was lit in 1971.
Jantar Mantar: One of the brilliant architecture of Indian masterpiece Jantar Mantar has fourteen geometric devices. These devices are used for predicting the behavior of planets, measuring time, and forecasting weather changes. In1712 A.D, Maharaja Jai Singh II of Jaipur had constructed this magnificent structure.
Old Fort: It is one of the oldest historic sites in Delhi. Sher Shah Suri in 1538-45 built this fort which has three massive gateways known as the Bara Darwaza, Humayun Darwaza and Talaqi Darwaza. Inside this huge structure, there is the Quila-I-Kuhna mosque, Sher Mandal, and a Baoli.
